Interested in getting involved?

The Lansing Bike Cooperative is completely volunteer-run. Our regular shop staff and Board Members are all volunteers. The best way to get involved is stopping by our Open Shop Hours or attending one of our Board Meetings. Dates and times are posted to our Facebook Group Page.

What do volunteers do?

Volunteer mechanics work on donated bicycles for resale and helping walk-in cyclists fix their own bike using our shop space and tools. All skill levels are welcome and volunteering is a great way to learn bicycle mechanic skills!

Not a bike mechanic?

Join us for our mechanic classes and learn everything you will need to work on bikes! But if you can’t make it to the classes or want to help in other ways, don’t worry. Everyone has skills that can be utilized. In addition to bike mechanics, we also need volunteers to greet patrons as they come in the door, help with behind the scenes organizational projects, sort, organize and price new and used parts, collaborate on art projects, community outreach, marketing and promotion, building maintenance and so much more!
